  • Prepare groundwater potential maps using GIS overlay analysis and analytical hierarchy process (AHP)
  • Interpret and identify potential target sites for further geological, hydrogeological and geophysical study
  • Field validation and ground-truthing

GIS Consultant (Dec 2022 – Jul 2023): eTech, Addis Ababa | www.etechsc.com
Worked on a project of digital addressing system for the Bishoftu town in Ethiopia as a domain area expert. Closely consulted the project manager and software developer team with the aim of producing a web and mobile GIS system. Among the tasks I carry-out

GIS Technical Manager (Feb 2022 – February, 2024): Open Street Map Ethiopia, Addis Ababa | www.osmethiopia.org
In charge of managing the GIS aspect for a mapping community organization in Addis Ababa. I am responsible to managing projects, outline workshop for the consecutive training, design community engagement structures. Worked on World Resources Institute – WRI sponsored project under the theme of digital transport for Africa (DT4A) called “Addis Map Transit”. In the project, I plan and monitor project activities according to the proposed outline that involves data collection, management and uploading in to the server of Open Street Map. Eventually, we will have an open-source mobile-based tracking system for the public transport routes in Addis Ababa city.
